How to track (white) ping pong ball determine speed and detect effect ball

Hello,

I am a student in computer vision.
For a school project, I have to track white ping pong ball, determine the speed of ball and detect the different effect ball.
I have already seen the video with haar cascade, but I don't know how to counting points and detect the speed (Firstly, I have to detect the white ball) and how to detect the effect ball
Can I use videos for learning with haar cascade ?

Can you explain me how to do that please ?
